Smith’s Lake

A major feature of Sandbar and Bushland Holiday Park is its immediate proximity to Smiths Lake.

Smiths Lake offers an extensive coastal lake environment. The sandy beach and shallow waters make it a perfect location for family swimming, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding and recreational boating. Other activities include estuary fishing, prawning, crabbing, water skiing and safe small boat access.

Surfing

Cellito Beach often enjoys favourable and uncongested surfing conditions protected from north easterly winds by the spectacular Bald Head and natural bush surrounds.

Well known surf beaches in the area include Cellito Beach, Boomerang Beach , Blueys Beach, Seal Rocks and Treachery Beach.

Fishing

The Smiths Lake area offers a wide range of fishing options. Smiths Lake including its occasional Sandbar ocean opening provides excellent and safe estuary
options.

Cellito Beach is renowned for its beach fishing including many deep gutters providing perfect conditions

Nature Walks

Guests can enjoy a stroll on the boardwalk through the rainforest, which leads to the wind protected northern end of Cellito Beach.

In addition to the boardwalk and in the immediate area are a number of nature walks including:

  • Walk to the top of adjacent Bald Head providing north and south views and experience the blow hole in the right conditions.
  • Beachcombe the length of Cellito /Sandbar beach 2.5km each way.
  • Walk or run the golf course perimeter trail in the early morning or late afternoon to view the wildlife including kangaroos, kookaburras and many other species.
  • The more adventurous may consider exploring the secluded beaches located beyond the southern end of Sandbar beach.
  • The pristine coastline may one day form part of the envisaged great Australian east coast ( Marrang Maru) walk.

Golf

Nestled in a beautiful valley between tree covered dunes adjacent to Cellito Beach is Sandbar Golf Course.

Whether a beginner or seasoned golfer, the accredited par 31, nine-hole golf course is a picturesque and enjoyable course to enjoy.

Regular recreational competition days are held and visitors encouraged to participate.

Group or Golf Club visits are encouraged and packages including accommodation and presentation barbecues are available.
